Duxiana at 3303 Cady’s Alley NW is the Georgetown showroom of the Swedish luxury bed manufacturer that has been producing the DUX bed system since Carl Johan Nilsson founded the company in Malmo in 1926. The DUX bed, which uses a patented spring system that Nilsson developed and that subsequent generations of the family have refined over a century, is among the most technically elaborate sleep systems in the world: the spring construction, which uses individually wrapped coils of varying tension calibrated to the specific zones of the human body, produces a support system that the company claims adapts to the sleeper’s body rather than requiring the sleeper to adapt to the mattress.
