Boffi was founded in Italy in 1934 by Piero Boffi and has developed over nine decades into one of the most respected names in the Italian kitchen design industry. The Boffi kitchen system, which approaches the kitchen as an architectural element of the domestic interior rather than a functional installation, has been designed in collaboration with some of the most significant architects and designers in the postwar period: the work of Piero Lissoni, who has been the Boffi creative director since 1994, has defined the contemporary Boffi aesthetic as one of the most restrained and rigorous in the international kitchen design market.

DePadova, which merged with Boffi to form the combined brand that the Georgetown showroom at 3320 M Street represents, was founded in Milan in 1956 by Maddalena De Padova, who was one of the most important figures in the introduction of Scandinavian and international modernist design to the Italian market. The DePadova furniture collection, which includes pieces by Charles and Ray Eames, Verner Panton, and other major figures in the history of modern furniture design alongside the work of the contemporary designers the brand collaborates with, provides the living and dining furniture that complements the Boffi kitchen in the fully designed domestic interior.

The Georgetown M Street showroom at 3320 is in the center of the design district block, adjacent to B&B Italia and the bulthaup kitchen showroom that together make the M Street and Cady’s Alley area the most concentrated location of European luxury furniture and kitchen design resources in Washington.
